A friend Gai brought to hear about Jesus.

Something that was expected of us while we were doing ministry in Phang-gna Thailand was to hire someone to help us keep our house up and take care of things. As expats we can provide employment for local people and they in turn can provide us time to do ministry. Gai was the first lady we hired to help take care of the house. Something that Wendy did was approach each person we hired to do this was to become a language helper. The lessons she was learning were a set of 66 Bible story lesson that went from creation to the resurrection of Jesus. As Wendy did these lesson with Gai as a language lesson, Gai learned much about God and was introduced to the person of Jesus. As time went on Gai was challenged with the Gospel. I had a Thai friend over visiting and he stated a conversation with her and asked her how much merit would it take to off set your karma? She began to cry and said, I don't know? She knew about Jesus as an idea, but when my friend told her about the grace of God and how Jesus has paid the price for her she began to cry even more. At this point she said she wanted to believe in Jesus as the one to take away her sins and become a follower of Jesus. Soon after she decided she wanted to be baptized. Gai got baptized with our daughter in the ocean. I love the picture of her and how being held and encouraged by Krua who was one of our co-workers when she was baptized. I think the encouraging part of this story is that God can use you as a learner and a listener. It was God's word that made the difference and the love of Christ. It was not our convincing words or how great we could communicate.
